Bereavement Ready is vendor-independent and product-neutral. This page states exactly what that means, what we will and will not do, and how to hold us to it.
Bereavement Ready is vendor-independent and product-neutral. We do not sell, resell, distribute, or receive commission, referral fees, sponsorship, or compensation of any kind from any manufacturer, supplier, or vendor of bereavement products or equipment. Our recommendations address institutional structure, policy, competency, and workflow. Where a facility asks about specific products, we will identify functional requirements and categories, and we will not recommend a named product.
Bereavement Ready is a readiness framework and an implementation practice. We measure institutional readiness across 29 items and eight domains, mapped to five published evidence bases, and we help hospital teams close the gaps that measurement surfaces.
We do not issue certifications, designations, or accreditations. No fee paid to Bereavement Ready results in a claim of recognized status, and no engagement is priced or scoped on the basis of any recognition outcome.
Formal recognition programs are emerging at state level. Texas Health and Safety Code §328.004 establishes a hospital recognition program with criteria still under development. Louisiana's Act 346 establishes a statewide initiative. Where such programs exist or emerge, our commitment is that the work a facility does with us is built to be forward-compatible with them: documented, evidence-mapped, and portable. That is a design commitment about our own materials. It is not a promise about programs we do not control, and we will not imply otherwise.
Some of the clinicians and advocates who have shaped this work have relationships with product vendors, professional organizations, or state initiatives. That is unavoidable in a field this small, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
Our handling is recusal and disclosure. Anyone contributing to framework content recuses from any discussion touching a product or organization they have a financial relationship with. Facility-level results are never shared with any vendor in any form. Aggregate benchmark findings are published in a form that cannot identify a facility.
